Flash exercise

This interactive exercise was created in conjunction with our symbols project. The goal was to learn basic flash and express one symbol from the iteration stage into the final symbol.

Transformations

For this project, the assignment was to pull from a small pool of images and create 10 new compositions or objects. From there the objective was to narrow those ten down to two larger, final images (shown above), displayed along with eight process
images. The final product was to be a printed piece. My final piece was a book made from black matte board and sewn together.

Symbols Project

For this project our assignment was to pick a word from a list and use that to create 3 symbols. The word I chose was Navigation. After brainstorming 100+ words that have to do with Navigation, I chose three main categories with three attributes for each. The categories I chose were People, Lack of Navigation (being lost), and Destinations. I took each of the three attributes from the main sections and turned them into images. One hand-drawn, one abstraction and one photo illustration were used for each category. Then I took those 9 images and combined them, using a matrix, into 12 more images. From these 12 I chose my favorite one from each category and iterated it 4 times. From the now five images I chose my favorite from each category.
